The village’s story is intertwined with notable families, including the Trewins, Denzells, and Fortescue. The Fortescue family, who inherited the manor in the 15th century, left a lasting legacy celebrated in the monuments within the local church.
Today, Weare Giffard is governed by a dedicated parish council, working to preserve its rich past while fostering a vibrant community spirit.
